They did remove the eccentric screw on the newer rangefinders, and it takes a 
special tool (eccentic end on it) to adjust it properly. It can be adjusted without 
the tool but the chances of damaging the adjustment are very great.
A clear laquer is the best cement for locking the adjustment plate in place.
