        reputable dealer.  It looked great but alas!  To my dismay, the 
        shutter was completely off and frame preview did not work at all.  I

          When it comes to Leica dealers, do you have any reliable dealers in 
        mind?  I simply could not believe the reputable dealer ship the faulty 
        M4-2 to me.  He has always been in Shutterbug.

David, would you be willing to share with the group the name of the
dealer who sent you the defective M4-2?  That way other group members
can tell you if the dealer is someone with whom they've had good
experiences in the past, or whether this is a dealer who has been
known to ship faulty equipment in the past; and also we can benefit
from your experience.

In answer to your question, I have personally had good experiences
buying used Leica equipment from KEH Camera Brokers of Atlanta,
Georgia; from Glazer's in Seattle, Washington (they do not advertise
in Shutterbug but can be found on the Web), from Woodmere Camera in
New York, and from Keeble & Schuchat in Palo Alto, California (who
also do not advertise in Shutterbug).

I do not think that advertising in Shutterbug is any indication that a
dealer is reliable.  Cambridge Camera is perhaps the worst dealer of
all -- most people who have done business with them say, "Run away!"

many years.
