I would think that for $200, the passport is easily worth it.

However, I question your claim that a used mint late model is $1950.
About a year ago I purchased (locally) a mint M6 for $1400 and a 35mm
Summicron for $750.  It was indistinguishable from new as far as I am
concerned.  Now you are talking about $800 difference in the price of
the body between new and used.  I'm not sure the passport is worth
$800.

I bought mine privately through one of those newsprint want-ad rags.
Keep your eyes open.
