From the LC-60 of 1938 to the Leica-Meter 3 of 1954, the Metrawatt AG meters
clip to the thread-mount Leicas precisely as did the later M, MC, and MR on
the M's.  Good meters.  They're selenium, so the acceptance angle is a bit
wide, but then selenium more closely matches the response pattern of the
average emulsion than does CdS, SPD, or gallium arsenide, so it has some
advantages, too.

The postwar Leica-meters can normally be purchased for $20 or so at many
camera shows.  And they're readily repaired:  Quality Light-Metric in
Hollywood does a fine job.
