I got mine for free from my camera shop (they got a batch of them for free from the importer, or they must have considered it to be a wise investment to offer them to prospective buyers!). Anyway, the CD-ROM is quite nice; it gives a complete overview of all major functions of the R8. The disc is in English and German and plays on Macintosh or Wintel PC. There is one mistake, though: when you are viewing the vario-lenses (zooms), two lens displays are mixed up (the picture does not correspond to the text). This happens both in English and German. Try it! A second CD-ROM is on its way: according to well-informed sources this CD-ROM will focus on the Leica company itself, with a complete product overview. That will surely be a well sought-after collector's item!
