I know that the F4 was the best camera for AIS lenses, I'm using Nikon AF sinds the 801, because of the AF and the flash system.= (but, now the R8 flash system is pretty close) IMHO, the Nikon marketing policy, if there is one, is the more frustrating of the photo market. For exemple: (The Nikonists will understand) Flash: -SB24, SB25, SB26 & SB28 Lenses: (usually the same glasses) -AF 180/2,8, AF-N 180/2,8 & AF-D 180/2,8 -AF 80-200/2,8, AF-D 80-200/2,8 & AF-DN 80-200/2,8 (I think that I'm missing one here) (and no AF-S 80-200/2,8 !) -AF 300/2,8, AF-N 300/2,8, AF-I 300/2,8 & AF-I 300/2,8. (to be fair , I never owned one of them but I know at least two dealers who still have an AF-I 300/2,8 in their show case) -but on the other hand, there is no AF-S 300/4 or AF-D yet. -AF-D lenses (former AF lens are not upgradable) Cameras: -801, 801S (other names in the US) -F90, F90X (other names in the US, N90 I think) -F5 with no Matrix with AIS lenses etc... Thank you NIKON to protect the value of our investment. Is Nikon also in the PC market ?? :-) When Leica change a model soon after his release, it become an instant collectible and may sell for more than new. (35/1,4 Aspherical >< 35/1,4 ASPH.) ;-) Lucien BELGIUM
