Because we pay AP to do that for us. Besides, if more newspapers had that
attitude, you woudln't see those hordes of photographers harassing
politicians and stars, and victims of storms and disasters. "The wire will
cover it" attitude would make for better "real" pictures from far afield
because the photographers who are there won't be dodging other large groups
of photographers. And local coverage would be better because the best
photographers would be covering the county fair, not the guy left behind.

Why sure, that's why I put New York first. The Mayor of New York is more
hostile to photographers than almost any other dictator in the world! <G>
