Oh dear *me* yes! I never use the word, and it makes me cringe every time
I read it. It just seems such a weird choice of word to use to describe a
situation where the photographer is engaged with his or her subject!
Actually, on reflection, I think it's a weird word to use, to describe the
taking of a photograph, in any circumstances.
Most odd.
