Subject: [Leica] M6 rangefinder question
From: milos@bohem-net.cz (Milos Kocman)

Hi all,

I tried to solve this offline, but it seems to be hard to answer, so here
I'm back. I hope that the LUG is more compact now and that I will be able
to stay put. Again, I strongly urge everyone not to quote what they respond
to in full - it's only common sense.

could you help me solve a little mystery for me? I noticed that when I
focus a lens up to the close-up limit, as far as it will go beyond the 0,7
m (last) marking and watch the rangefinder split image as I focus slowly
back, the split image and frame only start moving after a little while, not
instantly. In another words, the rangefinder coupling only kicks in a bit
before the 0,7 m mark, not right away. It is also noticeable the other way
around, when one focuses from 0,7m towards the close-up limit, the
rangefinder image stops moving a while before the focussing ring does.

Can you tell me what you think about it - I have not noticed this with my
first M6.

Thanks a lot,

Milos

BTW, if you are going to Prague, Czech Republic (that's where I live) or
need something related, let me know.
