I store all my batteries this way (nicads, AAs, Vartas, M buttons, 6 & 9 volt alkalines, etc. except wet cells, which I don't use) and have never had a problem with anything leaking out of them. I have a spare fridge for film and this kind of stuff. To be safe, keep them in a tupperware container, or wrap them in leakproof plastic baggies if you are storing them near food. They should last longer frozen than if left at room temp when not in use. Pick up about a dozen 625s from Canada to offset shipping costs, and you are good well into the next millennium. - -GH
