Well, Erwin, I have to tell you that it is with a HUGE amount of sadness that
I read your announcement. Yes, I am primarily a lurker, but I do speak up when
I have something to say. I have been a photographer since I was a kid and a
Leica photographer for 30 years now. I still test my lenses when I get new
ones and to ensure that everything is working properly using a Patterson test
target and at greater distances, tree limbs, etc. As a result I have been
disappointed now and then wiht a new lens and Leica has always sent me
exchange lenses for my approval. I also use my lenses - all of them.

But I am always, like many here, looking for more lenses! Your research has
been most influential in my decision-making in this regard. I take seriously
your findings and conclusions and deeply appreciate the amount of knowledge
and energy that goes into your reports.

Of course I shall follow your work on your website, but I think you're leaving
here will be a significant loss to this group. Rest assured, that regardless
of your reason for your action, that "this lurker" will miss you.

Best regards,
Bob Figlio, Ph. D.
