Yes I believe this to be true. I use a 3.5 VC filter with Kodak and a 2
filter with Ilford. This is with Ilford VGIV.  I think this is more because
the color of the mask than the contrast of the film. I seem to be getting
better print results with both films than with silver 400 speed films. The
lack of grain with kids pictures is great. regards Bill
