I did have the R 100 Apo Macro for quite a while; however, I
traded it off ( a dumb move ;-) for other gear. I do have the
R 90 f2.8 & the 80 f1.4 lenses; the Elmarit is a real "sleeper".
My dilemma has more to do with: a.) Wanting to "prune" some
more; i.e., eliminate focal lengths that are too close. b.) My
recently acquired R 35 f2 is great; i.e., the glass is great & f2
is a real "working" aperture. c.) Per Erwin Puts; " The SAA
( new M-90 f2 ) is one of the very few to offer stunning quality
at f2.0 "; thus, if the R-version is as good.....................whoa ;-)!
d.) Acquire the new 50 f1.4 with some of the trade in cash.
In summary, I'd like to trade in the R 90 f2.8 & R 80 f1.4 on the
new R 50 f1.4 & the new R-90 f2 apo. Imagine working with
the 35 f2, new 50 f1.4, & the new 90 f2 apo on my R8s; the
"killer trio" from the kilns of Kolsch! However, going for the
APO macro over the 90 f2 is also an idea;, i.e, the tradeoff
being Macro versus the extra stop....tough one ;-) !
I know it's just the LUG Disease; but, what's to be done (&>()?
