In the entry-level, they're about even with other marques; at the top-end they are certainly slower to market new models than Leica. During the F4's lifetime, Nikon introduced *eight* mid-level bodies, of which half were discontinued before the F5 was announced. Look for the F100 to come and go before an F6 comes to market. In fact, I would venture to say that the F6 will probably be contemporary with the Leica R10!
