Does yours have the M4-P framelines? It may either be an M4-2 whose top plate was replaced with an M4-P plate, or else an M4-P whose flash shoe (and hence the serial number) was changed to one salvaged from an M4-2. Neither of these things would've likely been done by an authorised Leica service centre (or doubtful by Reinhold or Don or Sherry, either, unless so admonished by the camera's owner). Please do not take my word on this...verify what I've said. If I am correct, then you might want to consider if any other inexpert servicing may lurk inside, as well as the fairness of the price you paid, whilst you might still be able to reverse the purchase.
