I have some absolutely gorgeous night shots taken with the non-ASPH Summilux
in New Orleans. Black shadows and beautifully saturated colors, all taken wide
open for the most part. However, a street light in the wrong place can change
the character of the picture quite impressively! Sharpness, is not an issue
for me with hand-held low light photography. If you want high-res photos, use
a Summicron of any vintage, stop it down to 5.6, put it on a tripod and load
the camera with tech-pan.
