This number begins flashing when you lightly depress the shutter release to activate the and remains that way. I spoke with Metz and am told that it should disappear, which is the way it would work on the R8. There are no modes on the M6 to change to, just set shutter speed to 1/50 or less and add a TTL flash. I have the Leica SF20 worked which works flawlessly (BTW, Metz makes the Leica flash). But the Metz 40MZ3i and also the 40MZ-1i [I have both] both show the same thing. The flash seems to function properly (checked with a flash meter) at stops f5.6 through f22 but that's all. I did speak with Leica and Metz (Bogen in the US). Apparently Bogen did not test the M6 TTL with their adapter even though Leica indicates the same adapter (which works on an R8) works with the M6 TTL. BTW, the 3i works very well with the EOS system including E-TTL flash metering. However, mine is the 40 MZ-3, not the newer 40 MZ-3i. I would very much like to get the 3i in future for my EOS 3 for its E-TTL compatibility. May I ask what consistent problems you are experiencing with your Metz? I have not shot with my M6 TTL/metz combo yet - I went as far as mounting the flash on the camera and noticed straight away that the RF is out. I did fire the shutter blank for a few times and the TTL flash circuit appeared to work: adjusting the lens aperture did vary the amount/duration of flash output. > If I could ask, are you also using the Leica module with it?
