AS I understand the situation there is no longer any relationship
between Leica Camera Group (Solms) and Leica Microscopy and Scientific
Instruments Group (Heerbrugg). They are quite separate companies but
confuse everyone by using identical logos. Does this make the current
discussion on modern microscope lenses off topic? Or do these lenses
come from the same factory anyway?
You're absolutely correct. But both the cameras and the microscopes
trace their lineage through E. Leitz (though for stereomicroscopes, to
Wild)... and this is the LUG, not the LCUG. So it seems adequately
on-topic anyway.
