The mark-up is higher on Hoya then on Tiffen, meaning more bucks for the Hoya distributor. But the return rate is about 40% higher for Hoya. And, in the case of my local store, this was primarily wiht professionals, their prime customers in terms of $$$. I believe the PMA figures bear this out, incidentally. Hoya IS junk: have you ever USED one of their filters? Wavy glass, poorly made mounts, I shudder at the thought. I spent six months with one of their filters crapping up one of my Contax RF lenses. Finally busted the sucker to get it out. The filter mount disintegrated (thank God, I CAN judge junk!), and the lens was undamaged. No, spare me Hoya. Quality or nothing. But, "quality" and "Hoya" is like "ROR" and "response to customer questions". Nada is nada. Marc msmall@roanoke.infi.net FAX: +540/343-7315 Cha robh bas fir gun ghras fir!
