Hi Alastair:

just visited your new web pages. Nice work, some really excellent
pictures !

One suggestion though: I think you should try to make small sized
thumbnails of your pictures. The ones that are now present are in fact of
the same size as the full images, which makes it slow to open a thumbnail
page. Try saving thumbnails at 72 dpi in JPEG 3 size, that would help a
lot I think.

Kind regards,

G'day Pascal,

Thanks. The decision was deliberate. I wanted to load the images into cache
so that travelling through the home page was "quick". So far most people
have commented on how fast my page arrives --- iff they wait for the
thumbnails. The idea is to have a quite coffee, then you can race through
the big images. It won't suit everyone, but it is an experiment on my
behalf, and one that some people seem to like. I have also been
experimenting with "invisible" images. The idea is to have an arresting
page, with full size images displayed as one by one pixel, loading in the
background. Then the rest of the voyage is so much faster.

Cheers

Alastair Firkin
