I did a football game Saturday in the rain (tail end of the hurricane)
using the R8 and a 400mm lens.  I did not have any protection on the camera
or lens.  I just wiped the rain off every now and then with a microfibre
cloth.  Camera functioned perfectly in the rain, as a pro level camera like
the R8 should.

In really hard rain, I use a zip up plastic bag taped to the lens hood
which covers the camera as well.  This is the type of bag that blankets or
comforters come in  and is fitted with a zipper.  Worked great the last
time I used it in heavy rain.
