Bill,

This is a fun rule...Actually, you should NEVER exchange money when
travelling. Just bring your good old ATM card and use it to withdraw
cash as you need it. Look on the back of your card: if there is a Plus
or a Cirrus symbol on it, you will be able to use it pretty much
everywhere in Europe and even the Far East. I have lived in Belgium 4
1/2 years and travelled abroad at least 2-3 times every month in that
time; I do not recall ever exchanging money. Either my Belgian Citibank
or my U.S. credit union ATM card will always work in the local machines.
