If one attempts to compare silver and digital prints using a loupe, or even held up closer than normal viewing distance, there is no question the digital prints will appear "digital" in comparison to the "silver." But held at a normal viewing distance...even the eye to lap distance at which we normally look at photographic books, to say nothing of eye to wall distance, and good digital prints hold up quite nicely when compared to their traditional cousins.
