Ken I will take issue with this statement, loathe as I am to dispute with someone of your knowledge and expertise. The 2.8/50 "Red Scale" Elmar is a fine and distinguished lens, but the Summitar simply blows it into the weeds at any aperture. This assessment is based on the ownership and use of multiple examples of both. I kept a Summitar; I have sold all of the Elmars.
