Check the yellow window in the back.  That is a weakness in those R models.
Also, look on the inside at the condition of the black foam rubber gasket.
These deteriorate and fail.  It sounds like you had a light leak.  I had the
same thing happen in my R3.  Let me know if that yellow window's loose and I
can tell you how to fix it.
