I thought a modern M would look great if gold-plated and my camera is not a collector's piece so I do not care much about its looks (if I did, I would have the black re-done and I would take the dent out of it, if possible). I beleive the M4-P has a zinc based cast top, and I seem to recall reading on the LUG a year or so back that is very hard to get the black chrome off, in order to do any kind of plating.
