The problem is that not everyone has every lens and people tend to use the lenses that they have. You don't state why you want another 50mm lens. Just as you infer, people that use several lenses of the same focal length do so because of the reasons you state --- the optical characteristics they are looking for...subject...photographer's mood...and sometimes because it is what they have with them. Logically, you might consider adding the latest (i.e. most modern design) 50 mm lens. This should give you the most extreme variation from you Summarit. Hope that this makes some sense. For me, the best lenses to use are the ones I have.
