But then there is virtually no one is is or was Jim Marshall.... B. D. (Who is NOT putting down Jim Marshall with the comments above....And who does NOT believe the BS from those who archly suggest that anyone with a camera and the access Marshall had would have taken the photos he took....There were, after all, countless people with the access is those Golden Days of Yesteryear, and there is only ONE Jim Marshall...DAMN!!!! Where oh where are those negatives and contacts I had from the 1964 Newport Folk Festival...Yes, That Newport Folk Festival, the year BEFORE Dylan went electric, the year when Tom Paxton, the Kewskin Jug Band, Richard and Mimi Farinia, and Jose Feliciano played the New Folk concert...when I was just a doofy kid with a meterless Pentax, a press pass issued by "17 Magazine" and a couple bricks of Tri-X begged off the father of a girl friend - who was a photo ed at Life Magazine ...the father, not the girl friend ....ah, those WERE the good old days...at least the days of the festival were...those acne-plagued years in general really sucked...but I digress...) > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us > [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of John > Collier > Sent: Friday, June 09, 2000 7:30 PM > To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us > Subject: Re: [Leica] HCB and Jim Marshall > > > Go here and if you were born at the right time you will understand, > otherwise.... > > http://www.marshallphoto.com/ > > John Collier > > > From: ARTHURWG@aol.com > > > > WHO, WHO is Jim Marshall?
