I spent the month of September 1998 in England, Holland, Germany, and
Switzerland. I've been this route many times and was a frequent visitor of
the Alpa factory in Ballagues Switzerland over the years.

This last trip (1998) I took my R7, 24, 28PC, 35/2, 50; M6, 35/1.4 ASPH 50
Summicron, 90 Elmarit. I used the R7 twice in the fields of northern
England. It stayed packed for the rest of the trip. I used the M6 endlessly
(~40 rolls of Fuji MS 100/1000, 10 rolls of Velvia). I used the 90 Elmarit
twice, the 50 somewhat more. The 35/1.4 ASPH was the lens of the trip. I
sold the 90/2.8 & 50/2 and bought a 75/1.4 and 50/1.4 . I found that I used
f/1.4 a L-O-T. It allows you to photograph scenery and also, photograph
inside trains, buildings, restaurants, etc... Many many times I wished I
had a 50 or 75 Summilux along. There is definitely something to be said
about wide Leica glass.

I find that, for me, ISO 200 is the perfect ISO with a handheld M6. With
the MS 100/1000, I could push a roll to 800 anytime I needed, depending
where I was. Good stuff. Photographs inside places like Jungfraujoch and
the Valorbe Grotto are a piece of cake.

The next time I go, I will take two M6 bodies, 15 H*****, 35/1.4 ASPH,
50/1.4 Summilux, and 75/1.4 Summilux. That's it!
