That's if the internal thump clank doesn't do something to the inside of the camera first. You'd be much better off with a Tom Abrahamsson Rapid winder, completely manual and once you've used it for a bit, you can shoot 3 frames a second. I've bought and got rid of 3 battery operated winders. I wasn't smart enough after the first to know not to buy again. What was worse? I was stupid enough to listen to a Leica rep tell me, " Oh the winder has all been re-configured and they're as smooth as silk! Yeah right, as smooth as a rocky road to crash and burn the innards of the camera. Go Abrahamsson Rapid winder and you can't go wrong. Find some unsuspecting soul and sell the winder or get your money back, then e-mail Tom Abrahamsson TTAbrahams@aol.com I bet you'll save money for film when comparing the price of battery to manual. ted
