It then came out with the M4-2 in 1977 to meet the continuing demand of pro photogs. It was a modified version of the old M4 with out a hot shoe or self timer. It could be used with a motor drive. When they are on Ebay, they seem to bring a lower price than regular M4s. I have read comments that allude to more prone to mechanical problems. Same for the M4-P.
