I could just shoot like crazy with AA's!!! Amazingly more battery efficient! And it wasn't the TTL feature that did it course I had some Vivitar TTL flash, the 4600 I think and it worked the same as my 283's and 285HV's as far as butteries go. I think that Nikon or whoever makes the Nikon flash got Way ahead in the thyristor end of it. Metz as well. Mark Rabiner
