Looking at the negatives I was pleasantly surprised to see how accurate the viewfinder was, at least with the objects photographed so far away that there was no parallax problem. (I wear glasses, and I can see all the 21 mm framelines without moving the eye around, and in that respect the external wf is almost better than the built in one - even for 35 mm framelines) Chris >the current leica 21 and 24 are phsically and optically identical, one just >masked some. these are optically inferior to chrome and black chrome >original 21mm leitz.this was 8-eleement >in an all metal housing >and metal intergral foot. by opticallly inferior i mean the area the >original 21 shows with projected frame is considerably more what the >plastic shell current one shows. this is coated and bright but has a >horrible glued piece of plastic for a foot. the original like all the >brightline finders of the fifties-sixties has beautiful proportions and >esqusite >finish. > >> From: Nathan Wajsman <wajsman@webshuttle.ch> >> Reply-To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us >> Date: Fri, 04 Aug 2000 08:26:50 +0200 >> To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us >> Subject: Re: [Leica] 21mm, 24mm Viewfinder Question >> >> No problems from this eyeglass wearer.
