I'm not someone who runs around (in a false economy) trying to squeeze out the best deal, but if I'm parting with serious moolah, then I want to have a long-term relationship with a dealer and establish a level of trust. If I feel I'm being treated well, then I'm usually very loyal and they will do well out of me, and hopefully my recommendations for a long time. With problematic items, as camera gear can often prove to be, (although I've never had a problem), I feel it's important to be able to have a strong relationship with the dealer. As soon as I sense there is a relationship, I'll just stick with that dealer, unless of course I'm travelling through Hong Kong or somewhere where the deal's just too good to ignore. BTW, where do shooters here buy their professional film stock? I want to buy a few bricks, but Joe's doesn't seem to be the most attractive of prices.
