But I am looking for exceptional reliability.<<<<<<<< Hi Vick, Unless you absolutely need to be all mechanical with the R6.2, I'd go R8 without hesitation, regardless of the LUG reported unfortunate incidents, as you've only read the reports of those with malfunctions more so those many thousands who's R8 has functioned without any twitch whatsoever! And by now the chances of you having an R8 glitch are minimal, I suppose like any new camera you could experience one. However, if you have the new "blue light text readout" in the view finder, it's pretty unlikely of any grief. And even with the R7 to R6.2, I'd go R7 if you don't have to work a mechanical camera. Not that there is anything wrong with mechanical Leica SLR's, it's just the simplicity of a few electronic thingies can make life so much more interesting photographically. By the way you realize you'll receive at least ten more posts countering or agreeing with me. Or another out of the blue option altogether. ted
