Nikon, Zeiss, and Canon had PLENTY of time to compete, and compete they did....till the late sixties....but Leica won in the end.... (I personally wish Nikon had hung in there with the SP-2/SPX....but hey?????) I suspect that folks thought the CLE would kick Leica's butt....but twenty years later, no more CLE, no CLE parts, so sorry.....but those damn ol' m2s and m3s are still hackin' away..... I'm sure the Hexar will fare the same.....pity, tho...I'd LOVE for some company to REALLY kick Leica in the butt....:):):):) CU later, Walt On Tue, 12 Sep 2000, Mark Rabiner wrote: > ><Snip> > > Is a camera that might force Leica to compete more intensely in an open > > marketplace really that bad?
