Yes, Simon, any 48mm filter will work...and yes, they were made in 
fairly good numbers, but obviously not as many as the non-preset
version...I had a silver canadian one for years, super lens, but 
sold it to buy the much smaller and equally good mid-90s summicron...
also a great lens...and still heavy!!!.....but not as bulky....
