As always it is going to be down to what is right for a particular user. Personally I tend to verge on the wide angle side having (Nikkor) 28mm and 35mmm PC lenses together with a less used 50mm for architectuaral work. The 28mm I use the most; though it may be great for architecture it is not as versatile for people like a 35mm hence the choice for a 35mm as a the primary lens. As per Frank Filippone's suggestion wider may be an option as the next wide angle like the well priced Voigtlander 15mm Heliar - great for those wide vista shots and it won't break the bank! The question in this case would then be which view finder is the 35mm frame better placed?
