I had both the Canon 35mm F2.0 and the 19mm f3.5 LTM plus the 25mm
f3.5 and in 1969 in Japan, Canon did not offer any lens hoods for
those lenses. The 35mm f2.0 front lens element is slightly recessed
and like the Russian 35mm f2.8 I think they thought that was good 
enough.
