The meter and display should use almost no power and should be able to be left switched on for months, particularly if stored in a bag or in a dark cupboard. Re-chargeables seem cost effective but are amazingly unreliable they seem to discharge over quite a short time even when not in a device. Yet sometimes they seem to last for ages!…. You may guess I'm frustrated by this subject. What is going on?
