I've been shooting my new-to me older version 280/2.8 hand held on the 
R8 + winder, the lens alone weighs >3 Kg. hand-held. That's what the 
pistol grip is for! I believe that the greater mass actually improves 
stability. Certainly not a problem if the shutter speed is >1/500sec.
