I don't know if you are familiar with the term "nerd
pocket". But the much maligned plastic pocket protector
was invented to protect shirts from the occasional leaky
fountain pen ( now serves for the defective ball points ).
For the past several years I have been using the
Sanford "Espresso" extra fine fiber tip, or others like it.
Makes a convenient and workable substitute.
