I have attended Leica Days in Belgium and in Switzerland, and in both countries Leica paid the customers to attend (by offering special discounts)--that is how it should be. A proper Leica Day also includes a technician who will give your cameras a quick check of things like rangefinder, light meter and shutter speeds, for free. Charging customers to attend is most certainly not standard practice. I guess the only caveat is that perhaps the Perth event includes a sumptious dinner sprinkled with the finest wines Australia has to offer?
