I like the original much more... (IMO) this is one of those shots that at first looks like cropping will tighten up nicely, focus attention on the action and all that, so you try, and you realise it didn't need it, your eye figures out where to go just fine, only now you don't have any context. Which I guess is why people use wides for SP. > Now a little personal context. I had not yet gotten my contact lenses when > this picture was taken. With glasses, I can't see about 1/5 of the 35mm > frame on a .72x standard M viewfinder. I've noticed that since I got my > contacts, I'm framing 35mm shots much better. I wonder about this effect with SLR viewfinders: my FE and F3hp are 0.75 and 0.85 or so (with a 50,) which makes lenses feel quite different. 28 is a more 'immersive' experience on the FE, 50 feels normal on the F3 but slightly tele on the FE. Haven't noticed a difference in my results, although I've never really looked for one. Cheers, Michael (the other one!) - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
