I went back to the dealer today (Double Expo) and he said that it was sold without guarantee so basically it's tough luck. As the meter seems to under read by 2 stops I can use the film speed dial to compensate. Quite strange this afternoon using the SL and a 250mm f4 lens together with the M6. Let's just say that an SL with that lens is just a bit heavier than an M6 with a Summicron :-) Steve - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of Dennis Painter Sent: 03 August 2002 17:19 To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] Leica SL question Douglas Herr wrote: > On Fri, 2 Aug 2002 23:23:50 +0200 Steve Unsworth > <mail@steveunsworth.co.uk> > wrote: > > > I've bought an R SL and I find that the meter > > reading is 2 stops less > > than the same reading with my M6. > > It probably needs some service, like a simple meter calibration. I would be concerned that the meter cell is going bad also. Steve, I know you are in France but it might be worth a call to Sherry. She often has SL's for sale and, naturally, guaranteed up to snuff.
