There are a number of good small magazines devoted to photo journalism and
documentary photography, or publications that at least give it space, but
the sad reality, Daniel, is that at least in the U.S., there are no longer
any general circulation magazines carrying on the tradition of Life, Look,
etc.

And, btw, while there was a lot of drech in Life, Smith was hardly the only
worldclass photographer who shot for Life in its glory days.....

A while back it was claimed that photojournalism, in the form of covering a
topic in several spreads, was gone.

Not.

It's not fly-by-night. I've just received my second number. It comes out
once a quarter.

Good stuff, better than most of what Life ever produced (with the exception
of W. Eugene Smith).

All the best,
Back from Oslo,
Daniel
