I was passing my local dealer and saw it in the window. Initially, I went in to look at it out of curiosity, but after having handled it, that was it. It caught me hook, line and sinker... The thought of owning a camera body that is older than me, is in perfect working order AND will take the lenses that I own was just too much! So the funds that I had put away for a Nova fibre based print processor were rapidly diverted to purchase the M2 (oh, and a 135mm Elmarit!). The M2 is not mint and has obvious signs of wear. I figure it is better to have an older mechanical camera that has been used regularly than one that has been in its box for years. It was also a very good price - substantially lower than some of the recent prices I have seen for M2s in the UK photo press. Adding a Voigtlander VC meter has made it almost as easy to use as the M6TTL. I justify the purchase by saying that I needed a third body so that I could use colour, b&w and infra-red films at the same time. Pretty lame excuse, but like I said, I think it caught ME. I have no regrets. Regards Mark Pope Swindon Wilts, UK http://www.monomagic.co.uk - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
