The town (indeed the whole coast) is very touristy, and you are more likely to hear German, Dutch or English than Spanish when walking down the street. I made it a habit to walk around the town early in the morning to try to capture the athmosphere while most tourists were still sleeping off the previous night's bar and disco visits. First, a couple of landscapes. The coastline just south of Moraira: http://www.wajsman.com/2002_30.jpg (M3+50mm Summilux, Maco 820IR) Driving inland, the countryside looks wild and barren, and it is littered with old abandoned structures like this one (in the background you can just make out the resort of Benidorm): http://www.wajsman.com/2002_30alt1.jpg (M6+24mm Elmarit, Fuji Acros) Early morning street in Moraira, empty except the cat and the woman in the distance: http://www.wajsman.com/2002_30alt2.jpg (M6+50mm Summilux, Fuji Acros) A guy fishing on an otherwise empty beach: http://www.wajsman.com/2002_30alt3.jpg (M6+35mm Summilux, Fuji Acros) The first tourists emerge (although they were most likely not the ones dancing the night before...): http://www.wajsman.com/2002_30alt4.jpg (M6+50mm Summilux, Fuji Acros) Two fishermen doing the painstaking work of going through their nets to retrieve the catch: http://www.wajsman.com/2002_30alt5.jpg (M6+50mm Summilux, Fuji Acros) http://www.wajsman.com/2002_30alt6.jpg (M6+90mm Apo Summicron, Fuji Acros) and finally one of the many stray cats that hang around the harbour, apparently living off fish scraps and restaurant leftovers: http://www.wajsman.com/2002_30alt7.jpg (M6+50mm Summilux, Fuji Acros) The complete PAW index is at: http://www.wajsman.com/indexpaw2002.htm and comments and critique are always welcome and appreciated.
