I can still remember I first heard of him when I came across his inspiring book called "Mountain Light" at the local library...... I searched high and low to buy the book here but could'nt find one in any of the big bookstores.. And to think he was here in Singapore not too long ago giving a lecture on landscape photgraphy and techniques... so sad.... peace TMLee - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ted Bayer" <tedbayer@harbornet.com> To: "LUG" <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Sent: Monday, August 12, 2002 1:36 PM Subject: [Leica] Galen Rowell dead in plane crash > > I received this sad news from a friend this evening: > > It is with sadness that I report that confirmation has been received by > Kurt Wedburg, local mountaineer, of the death of Galen and Barbara > Rowell. > > "The Aero Commander they were in crashed this morning while on final > approach to Bishop Airport.
