Hey, Austin, I don't believe that Bill Gates ever claimed to have invented
either the computer or software - while Al Gore did claim to have
responsibility for the creating of the internet. ;-)

Hi Frank,

...or at least claiming they invented them.  It's funny how many people
believe Bill Gates "invented" software or even the computer for that matter.
It's just so laughable, like Al Gore invented "The Internet"...

Even Intel...the current crop of CPUs, since the 486, basically the Pentium
and further series, were/are VERY strongly based on work done at Digital.
It just so happens, that a number of high level engineers who worked on the
Alpha design team were hired by Intel to work on the Pentium...and hence a
lawsuit ensued (sic).  IMO, Intel had no technology beyond the 486 (except
for "transistor cramming") until these very engineers brought "other"
(cough, gag...) technology to the Intel table.  Kind of ironic...
